Water plant on line,
testing ends Friday
LOWLANDS--Air-Fin Water Production Plant is up and running and will be adding extra capacity to the water distribution grid on Friday. A series of tests are being carried out to ensure all the equipment is properly installed and the water quality is up to par.
Air-Fin boss Willem Barendsen told The Daily Herald that the plant was switched on as planned on December 31 and the pumps are running in the test phase. The plant will be in full force by Friday when all the tests are completed. “Everything is normal.”
The reverse osmosis water production plant will pump out an additional 3,700 cubic metres of much needed water daily. The contract Air Fin signed with government is for a production of 2,750 cubic metres per day, but the plant is fitted with the equipment to pump out 3,700 cubic metres.
This volume will supplement the current production of Enerserve which produces 9,370 cubic metres of water a day. The current demand is 12,000 cubic metres per day. Enerserve N.V. will be replaced by Air-Fin.
