MAC vandalized again

BETTY’S ESTATE--The Methodist Agogic Centre (MAC) John A. Gumbs Campus in Betty’s Estate has been vandalised again, after what had been done over the Christmas holidays.

Just Saturday before last, members of the MAC school board cleaned up the mess some unknown vandals created on the school premises during the Christmas holidays and a water cooler that had been damaged was repaired.

However, possibly the same vandals have scribbled what appear to be gang graffiti in permanent marker on the repainted wall above the cooler.

Parents voiced their concern after the first act of vandalism by calling on the MAC school board and director to take urgent action to safeguard and protect the school property, as no security arrangements are in place there.

MAC school board Executive Director Clinton Spring told The Daily Herald in an invited comment after the first incident that the board had not begun an investigation, but had obtained some leads. Based on the slogans and colour used once again, as previously suggested by Spring, the vandals could be from a certain gang.

This newspaper spoke with Spring yesterday. He said he had not yet been made aware of the situation, but would be dealing with it today.
