Dismantling process on
track, says Government

PHILIPSBURG--The discussions per Ministry on the dismantling of the Netherlands Antilles will start this month. The discussion will be in preparation for political consultation with all islands.

Decision-taking on governmental level is expected to commence in April. The Central Government Information Service stated in a release that the Project Organisation Dismantling Country Netherlands Antilles was satisfied with the results booked by the Ministries with regard to compiling all relevant information.

The deadline was December 1, 2007. The documents the Ministries produced will be very important for the process. The goal of the dismantling trajectory is to dismantle the Netherlands Antilles in a proper manner.

The dismantling will consist of two main paths: the transfer of tasks and responsibilities to the new entities and the concluding of all responsibilities of the Netherlands Antilles.

The new entities are expected to go into effect by December 15.
