Media sign [RED] letters
confirming commitment

PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten’s Island Government HIV/AIDS Programme Management Team has solidified its relationship with local media houses by having each one sign a [RED] Letter of Intent confirming its commitment to the [RED] Campaign.

HIV/AIDS Programme Management Team Lorraine Scot and Cornelius de Weever stated that they were extremely grateful for the cooperation that they received from the media houses. They said it was not only about additional business for them, but also their way of contributing to the [RED] Campaign. Some media houses offered up to 40 per cent discount on their rates and others sponsored additional [RED] spots on TV and radio.

[RED] letters of intent were signed this week with persons representing the media from PJD-2, AVS News, Soualiga Broadcasting, Philipsburg Broadcasting; Pearl FM as well as the TODAY newspaper, The Daily Herald and the St. Martin Republic.

As an official [RED] partner, the broadcast media involved have agreed to provide a [RED] slot as it relates to [RED] businesses sponsoring ads for that particular month. The newspapers on the other hand have agreed to provide a [RED] page for the sponsoring businesses to place their ads, as well as cover their events and activities. An example was the launching of ENNIA’s Talk [RED] Campaign at its annual cocktail party which was held last week Friday.
