ArkeFly may add more
flights to St. Maarten
PHILIPSBURG--Dutch airline company ArkeFly may add a second regular weekly flight from Amsterdam to St. Maarten by the end of this year. TUI Chief Executive Officer Steven van der Heijden made the announcement on Saturday on the Website
Luchtvaartniews.nl .
ArkeFly flies to Curaçao four times a week. One flight stops in St. Maarten first. However, to make a destination lucrative, two flights a week is the minimum required, Van der Heijden said.
However, to increase the number of stops in St. Maarten, the frequency of flights to Curaçao also has to increase to seven times a week. If the number of passengers continues to develop positively it will be possible to combine an extra stop in St. Maarten with the increased flights to Curaçao, Van der Heijden said.
