~ Re-registering FZOG cardholders ~
PHILIPSBURG--The Social Insurance Bank (SVB) is re-registering all FZOG cardholders in the Windward Islands, to remove discrepancies from its database and to issue new cards before the current ones expire on February 1.
The re-registration began at the SVB office on Walter Nisbeth Road on Monday, January 21, and is scheduled to end on Friday, January 25.
SVB Head Reginald Willemsberg said Tuesday that SVB had realised that many persons in its system were in possession of FZOG cards, but were not entitled to them. The re-registration is being done to weed out these persons from the system and ensure that only persons entitled to the cards have them.
“We had a suspicion that this was the case when we took over the FZOG database from (health cost bureau) BZV and once in a while we did catch some of them,” Willemsberg said on Tuesday.
“But in December, when we were preparing information to generate the new FZOG cards, we found some discrepancies and we decided to carry out this re-registration exercise to ensure that everyone who is entitled to a card remains insured and those who were not entitled to a card didn’t have one.”
FZOG cardholders who visit the SVB office to re-register will be issued new guarantee cards. Clients are being asked to go in to re-register on the specified dates, as the old cards will not be valid from February 1.
To renew their cards, clients should take their old guarantee cards, their identification cards and those of their family members, the school declarations of their children ages 18-24 who are still attending school and their last pension slips.
Persons can visit the SVB office to renew their cards today, Wednesday, January 23, and Thursday, January 24, from 7:30am to 4:30pm. On Friday, January 25, clients can visit the office from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
