Harbour board holds
introductory meeting

POINTE BLANCHE--The new board of Harbour Group of Companies with St. Maarten Harbour Holding Company (SHHC) Managing Director Mark Mingo met for an introductory session at the Dr. A. C. Wathey Cruise Facilities Friday.

The new board comprises Chairman Michel Soons, members Michel Hodge, Joe Richardson, Humphrey Mezas, and Renald Williams. Soons, Hodge and Williams have served on the previous board.

The board members were briefed by Mingo on the overall harbour development master plan which includes the construction of the new 445-metre-long, 21-metre- wide mega cruise ship pier, juxtaposed to the existing A.C. Wathey Cruise Pier.

The articles of incorporation for the new board structure, as decided on last year by the Island Council, were handed over to the harbour management.

“There is a lot taking place at the moment at the Port of St. Maarten, especially where it concerns the expansion of our nation’s cruise and cargo facilities. We need to keep ahead by providing the necessary facilities to meet the demands of a growing industry and at the same time provide the best services we can,” Mingo said in a press statement.
