Old age pensions
up by 52 guilders
WILLEMSTAD--The Antillean AOV general old age pension has been increased by 7.7 per cent or 52 guilders a month, effective January 1, to compensate for the increased cost of living.
This brings the old age pension for every legal resident of all islands of the Netherlands Antilles age 60 and older to 725 guilders per month for single recipients. There are some 44,217 people collecting the old age pension.
Curaçao’s Island Government adds 100 guilders a month for the recipients who depend exclusively on the AOV.
While the AOV is usually paid out on the 21st of each month or earlier if it’s a day off, it is traditionally done earlier in December and also January. This month the payment is scheduled for Friday 16.
